A simple
planting plan was needed to update the entry garden of this home.
A cherry tree was removed as well as 3 weeping Alaska cedars that
had become overgrown. A sloping side yard was waiting for the addition
of plants to soften the rocks set in this space.
The
entry garden now holds shrubs that are size appropriate for the
home and the requirements of the neighborhood. A climbing hydrangea
will be working its way up the chimney wall. A moist spot was filled
with plants that can handle the moisture and shade. In the small
side yard, which is a real hot spot, drought tolerant plants with
interesting foliage make a welcome addition. All plants were chosen
for year-round interest at the request of the homeowners. This project
was not extensive, but adds to the beauty of this lovely home.
